It’s been two months to the day since I last blogged. I initially wanted to take a break from all internet activity. Then I went on vacation, and found myself without an internet connection. The Jewish New Year was centered around redemption. God told Moses as they exited Egypt, "This month is to be for you the first month, the first month of your year" (Exodus 12:2). This allowed for Israel to not only forget the calendar which commemorated their bondage, but to start the new day as a nation freshly born with dates of destiny ahead.
May the incorporation of redemptive principles bring us out of whatever has held us back in '08 and launch us in to our greatest days in '09.

Faith Hill's new Christmas single, "A Baby Changes Everything", brought hope to my soul this Christmas season. Inspiration welled-up not for want of Christmas cheer, but because it is the latest is a short string of mainstream Christmas songs filled with incarnational insight. Another song, "Mary Did You Know" (Lyrics written by Mark Lowry music by Buddy Greene), has proven to be the revelatory predecessor to miss Hill's melody.
